Towards the end of 2018 my sculpture "Soraya" was selected as a finalist for "Le Grand Nu Contest" at Untitled Factory, Rue Gabrielle, Paris 75018. I was delighted that this bronze sculpture was selected as she was made close by at the Atelier Legendre.
Soraya's adventure continues....
After meeting Nora Hickey (Directrice CCI Paris) at The Solstice Arts Centre in Navan, it was proposed that my sculpture would go to the Centre Culturel Irlandais Paris and is beautifully positioned in The Old Library.
The CCI is located beside the Panthéon in the 5th arrondissement. The Old Library dates back to 1775 and the collection consists of almost 8,000 volumes written or published between the 15th and 19th centuries. There are books about theology, history, philosophy which were used for the training of the seminarians in the Collège des Irlandais. The sculpture will remain at CCI Paris until July 2019.
