Here are some photos of the process and some more information. The portrait was modelled directly from the sitter Stephanie Johnson.

"I worked with directly with Stephanie (the sitter) for two days, modelling the portrait in clay at the RHA studio in Dublin. During ths time I was able to get a likeness through looking and a sense of her spirit through spending time with her. Stephanie has a unique style. I felt it was important to highlight her shaved hair and eye makeup although it was challenging to do so in clay. Taking the information I had collected from our time together, I was able to finish the portrait over a long period in my studio. When the clay had been prepared and dried, it was fired in kiln. This is the piece you see today."
